Hi, Im Kate,
Neuro-Somatic Educator, Somatic Practitioner, and Author of Rest & Rise.
I help overwhelmed, exhausted women reset their nervous system using neuroscience and body-based tools—so they can step out of survival mode and build a life they actually love living.
Moving Beyond "High Vibes" and Performative Wellness
You’ve built a life that looks successful on the outside, but internally you’re running on sheer willpower. Whether you are navigating a career transition, a shift in health, or the subtle loss of identity that comes with meeting everyone else’s needs—these seasons demand a different kind of support.
Women don’t need another generic self-care checklist or advice to "just relax." You need to understand how your body and nervous system actually respond to pressure.
My work is built on Biological Truth. By bringing together applied neuroscience, health physiology, cognitive-behavioural tools, and time-tested Eastern body-based traditions, we create real, physiological change that isn't forced—it’s sustainable.
A Grounded, Forward-Focused Approach
True transformation doesn't come from pushing through burnout or getting stuck analysing the past. It happens when you meet your physiology where it is right now.
My role as an educator is simple: we honour where your nervous system is today, give your body the physical reset it is asking for, and then build the clarity and capacity you need to move your life forward with confidence.
The Credentials Behind the Framework
I bring an educator’s heart and a deep grounding in health science to the world of somatic regulation and women's well-being. My practice is built on four core pillars:
Postgraduate Neuroscience: Specialised training through a Graduate Certificate in Neuroscience, focusing on stress pathways, anxiety mechanics, neuro-plasticity, and brain-body signalling.
Allied Health & Somatic Physiology: Practical health sciences connecting autonomic nervous system states directly to physical tension, fatigue, and systemic burnout.
Wisdom of Eastern Traditions: Drawing on time-tested, body-based modalities - such as mindful awareness, conscious breath, and somatic movement—that have supported human resilience for centuries.
30+ Years in Professional Education: Decades of educational mastery, ensuring complex knowledge is translated into clear, structured, and learnable tools you can use for life.
Author: Writer of Rest & Rise: The Feminine Nervous System and Restoring Balance Naturally.
What I Believe
I believe women are powerful when they feel supported, resourced, and grounded.
I believe change doesn’t need to be dramatic to be meaningful; it just needs to be intentional.
I believe rest is a biological necessity, not a reward.
I believe clarity comes when we stop overriding our own cues.
I believe the body tells the truth long before the mind catches up.
And I believe every woman deserves a life that truly feels like her own.
Beyond the Science
When I’m not working with clients in my Coffs Harbour office or online with women globally, you’ll usually find me by the ocean or exploring the forests of the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales.
I am a mum of two young men and someone who deeply loves traveling, reading, and music—anything that brings perspective, creativity, and human connection to everyday life.
My home, garden, and animals keep me steady and grounded—and that same calm, structured, and warm presence shapes everything I do in my practice.
Wondering if This Is Right for You?
-
No. I am a Certified Somatic Practitioner and Master Educator (holding a Graduate Certificate in Neuroscience), not a licensed psychotherapist or medical doctor.
My work is an educational, forward-focused coaching space that bridges cognitive-behavioral tools with body-based somatic practices. While clinical therapy often focuses on diagnosing mental health conditions and exploring the past, we focus on where you are right now and where you want to go. We briefly reflect on how your nervous system learned its current stress patterns, and then we equip you with practical tools to move forward into sustainable vitality.
-
Traditional talk therapy works primarily top-down—analyzing thoughts and untangling past experiences through conversation. Somatic coaching works bottom-up—helping your physical body release the stress it is holding in the present moment.
Instead of getting caught in endless loops of talking about the past, we use mind-body skills to help you understand your present stress triggers, reframe your thoughts, and build physical capacity so you can confidently move your life forward.
-
Yes, absolutely. Modern somatic coaching brings together the best of both worlds: time-tested practices drawn from Eastern traditions—such as mindful awareness, conscious breath, and somatic movement—and the modern Western neurobiology that explains why they work. The Elemental Method bridges this ancient wisdom with practical cognitive-behavioral tools and postgraduate neuroscience, giving you a grounded, science-informed framework for daily life.
-
Functional freeze is that quiet state where you are managing your daily life, caring for everyone else, and getting things done—but underneath, you feel exhausted, foggy, or emotionally checked out. It’s your nervous system's clever way of protecting you when things have been intense for too long. You aren’t lazy or broken; your body is simply asking for a different kind of support.

Whatever feels most supportive for you! You can visit me in person at my Coffs Harbour studio, or we can work together through virtual sessions online. I work with women all over the world—supporting clients across Australia and New Zealand, as well as throughout Europe and North America. Learning to support your nervous system is just as comfortable, interactive, and effective from the ease of your own home, no matter where you are located.
